Concept Cars



A $100 fill-up tends to get people's attention, so it's not surprising that the $3 a gallon gasoline Americans saw earlier this year has spurred lots of talk and lots of action on ways to save gasoline or find alternatives to it.

U.S. Awards $100 Million to Fuel Cell Research and Development
U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman announced October 24 that $100 million will go to fund 25 hydrogen research and development projects. The projects support President Bushs Advanced Energy Initiative, which seeks to reduce U.S. dependence on foreign sources of energy through the research, development and use of new clean energy technologies.

U.C. Davis is working on technology that turns leftover food bits into biogas, a combination of natural gas and CO2.
